Top Video Game Talent Joins Leading Independent In-Game Advertising Company

 

SAN FRANCISCO—August 23, 2006— Leading independent in-game advertising company Double Fusion has expanded its team with three additions of gaming, media and technology talent.  Channing Chor, formerly of Fox Interactive Media, takes the role of Business Development Manager; former IGN Entertainment executive Jennifer McLean is now Double Fusion’s Senior Director of Marketing; attorney Alex Sood has joined as Senior Director, Legal Affairs and Operations; and Nir Hasson has come on board as Senior Programmer.

 

The announcement of the new members of the Double Fusion management team follows the company’s hiring of former EA executive Julie Shumaker, the top advertising sales professional in the in-game advertising industry, as Vice President of Worldwide Sales.  The incorporation of the highest level of talent into the company underscores Double Fusion’s commitment to building the in-game advertising business together with advertisers and videogame publishers.

Chor will be a manager within Double Fusion’s content acquisition group, which develops partnerships with game publishers. Prior to joining Double Fusion, Chor was part of the business development team at Fox Interactive Media, where he was responsible for evaluating and negotiating partnerships with 3rd party content owners to distribute entertainment content across all of the company’s online properties.  Prior to Fox, he spearheaded Citysearch/IAC’s community product initiatives.

 

McLean comes to Double Fusion to head up the company’s communications efforts from IGN Entertainment (a division of Fox Interactive Media) where she served as Director of Marketing.  At IGN, McLean was responsible for marketing, sales development, public relations, events, and custom client promotions. Prior to joining IGN, she was responsible for marketing, public relations, and strategic alliances for the Game Developers Conference and CMP’s other video game media products.

 

Sood will serve as legal counsel and head of business operations, including the company’s expansion into Asia. Prior to joining Double Fusion, he was an attorney with Bingham McCutchen LLP, where his practice focused on the representation of emerging technology companies.  Sood served as the general outside counsel for companies in the telecommunications, internet services, and retailing sectors and has extensive experience in the Private Equity and Venture Capital markets.  

 

Hasson brings his extensive knowledge of computer graphics and image processing, 3D real-time graphics engines and computer games to Double Fusion’s client SDK team. Prior to Double Fusion, Hasson was a programmer for Simbionix, a leading developer of virtual reality medical simulation tools
